How SRP’s Residential Demand Plan Works

SRP’s Residential Demand Price Plan mixes TOU energy with a demand charge based on the highest 30-minute demand measured during on-peak.

  • Summer on-peak is 2–8 pm, Mon–Fri
  • Winter on-peak is 5–9 am and 5–9 pm, Mon–Fri.
  • Weekends/holidays are off-peak.

Keep overlaps inside those blocks to an absolute minimum; even a short 30-minute stack can set the month.

Recent & upcoming changes

  • SRP’s board approved pricing changes; residential bills rise about 2.4–3.5% on average, effective with the Nov 2025 billing cycle (most customers’ cycles start in Oct). (SRP)
  • SRP maintains updated ratebooks for 2025 details. (SRP)

Before/After Bills

Typical Demand Targets & Savings Range

  • 30-min on-peak target: ≤3–4 kW (smaller homes), ≤4–5 kW (avg), ≤5–6 kW (pool/EV).
  • Expected savings: 10–25% when scheduling avoids overlap inside the 30-minute metering window.
